Cookies & Candy Mexican Wedding Cookies

Recipe Ingredients


3 Cups sifted all purpose flour
4 Cups powdered sugar
2 Teaspoons salt
2 Cups shortening (if it is too dry add enough butter to hold it together)
1 Tablespoon vanilla extract
1 Cup finely chopped pecans or
walnuts or macadamia nuts







Recipe Directions


1.) Sift together flour, powdered
sugar & salt in large mixing bowl.
Add the shortening, vanilla, and
chopped nuts. Using low speed of electric mixer, mix all ingredients until just blended.
2.) Roll dough into 1" cylinders.
Refridgerate for at least 30 minutes
until firm enough to slice.
3.) Preheat oven to 350. Line cookie sheets with parchment paper.
Slice into 3/8" thick slices. Place
cookies on prepared cookie sheets.
4.) Bake at 350 for 10-15 minutes.
Cookies should be white, if they turn brown, reduce the heat.

(I sometimes add a little baking powder if I want them a little firmer.)
